Global Competitiveness Factor Model

Competition is of interest to both policy makers and managers. A nation’s competitiveness is of utmost importance to policymakers especially in terms of attracting investments. The purpose of this paper is to analyze a report by the World Economic Forum which presents the position of each nation in terms of its Global Competitiveness Rank and a score. The score is derived at by analyzing several factors. A model is developed which presents overall Global Competitiveness Index (GCI) score in terms of a single equation. It also aims to find the position of India with respect to the given factors by WEF report and the new derived equation.
